Cant remove 2nd Partition from USB FLash Drive?

ok, i was given a 2GB USB flash drive, it contains 2 partitions, i wish to partition it back as one single partition, however i cannot delete the 2nd partition as it is write protected, how do i go about removing the write protection, so as i can have full control over the drive??
