Find an equation for the line with the given propierties?

First set your equation into y=mx+b form. So that would be y=3x+6. In order for a line to be parallel to another line it needs to have the same slope. The slope on a line is the m in the formula so that would make the m value 3. You need your slope to be 3 basically and so you need a 3x in your formula somewhere. In order for a point to have a point at (0,0) the thing affecting it is the b value. The b value basically moves the graph up or down. So right now we have a graph with a slope of 3 but it has been moved down from where it originally had a point at (0,0) to a point at (0,-6). So in short just get rid of the b value and your answer will be y=3x or y-3x=0 if you need it in standard form.
